Why color printer prints with stripes

A printer is a complex technique in itself, requiring careful treatment, and if we are talking about a color device, the list of possible problems with it will be even wider. This article will discuss why color printers sometimes start printing images with completely unnecessary stripes on it, as well as what to do in such a situation.

Why does a color printer print with stripes? TOP reasons

There are just a few of the main reasons why a print device can start printing images or photos with stripes. Among them:

  • Ink shortage
  • Filling nozzles PG with ink
  • The presence of air in the printhead
  • Electronic problems with the instrument

Important! In some cases, it is possible to correct this or that damage on your own, however, if the user is not sure about his own repair skills, the matter should be entrusted to professionals.

How to fix a broken printer?

If the printer started its “lane” printout suddenly, for no apparent reason, this may indicate that it simply runs out of ink. In order to check the amount of ink, you need to select “Service” or a similar option in the device management menu, and then start checking the ink level. This problem is easily solved by replacing the cartridge.

Important! If the printer was in the cold for a while before the appearance of a malfunction (for example, it was transported), then it is worth waiting a bit and let the device “thaw”, then check the printing capacity again.

If the printer was idle for a long time before a malfunction appeared, the ink in it could dry out and partially clog the PG nozzles. In order to clean the GHGs, you need to start cleaning the print head in the same menu “Service”. The procedure can and should be repeated several times, however, there should be an interval of 10-15 minutes between launches of cleaning. If this does not help, it is worth washing the head manually, and this is already a task for a specialist from the service.

Practice shows that sometimes stripes when printing full-color images occur due to failures in the mechanics of the device. In this case, most users are advised to seek help from service centers, as attempts to correct the problem yourself can lead to even greater damage to the device.

Important! Problems with the “mechanics” may indicate a certain number of vertical stripes along the sheet. Such defects are a sign of contamination of the raster tape, and they are solved by its cleaning.

In addition, problems with the encoder disk are also referred to mechanical failures of the devices. Encoder disk is a small wheel in the right or left part of the device, which is connected to the engine of the material feed mechanism by means of a gear transmission. With this part, the device "sees" the position of the material in the printing process. Transverse strips on materials often indicate contamination of the encoder disk. The gaps between such bands are usually the same width. As in the previous case, the problem is solved by cleaning the part from contamination.
