Buggy ps3 joystick

Joystick on the PlayStation 3 - is a kind of "key" to control the game console. It provides not only control inside the games, but also navigation in the main menu. And if it fails, the user loses the ability to manage the console.

Why is the joystick on the PS3 buggy?

The reasons for the failure of the gamepad can be about the same as the consequences. Main problems:

  • Broke one of the buttons. Most often this happens with the crosspiece. With such a breakdown, the key ceases to obey the user, and instead, she presses the buttons at random intervals, either never or several times in a second.
  • Physical deterioration. It happens if the joystick is actively used for many years. The consequences can be varied. In such situations, you can often notice the crack of the hull or the loosening of the whole structure.
  • Depletion of the membrane. External damage in this situation is not visible, but the buttons are unstable and incorrect. The reason lies inside the device - a membrane that accepts keystrokes, has become unusable or has been damaged.
  • Damage to the chip. Crash at the level of the gamepad architecture. Most often, the device simply refuses to work.
  • Software crash. Error at the level of the software joystick or the PS itself (although the latter is less common). The consequences themselves are unpredictable - accidental clicks, incorrect display of the interface, etc.

ATTENTION. The device from the PlayStation must be charged every few days, depending on the activity of its use. Unloaded it can not work. It happens that inexperienced users forget about it.

Solutions to the problem

First of all, you need to check the performance of the gaming station itself. This happens infrequently, but it happens that problems with the functioning of the gamepad are directly related to the console. It is enough to connect to the game station a knowingly working joystick (borrow from a friend, for example) and check all functions with it. If the other joystick provides a stable operation of all functions, then the problem is in the old gamepad.

The user can try to figure it out on his own, or contact technical support. Most likely, you will need to replace one of the parts of the gamepad, or even buy a new one.
