How to clean a mouse

In the modern world, a lot depends on the level of technological development. For the normal functioning of the system and ensuring high performance, it is necessary to acquire advanced developments and technologies. It is perhaps hard to imagine a person who would not use a computer in his life. If you are approximately familiar with its device, then approximately you know some basic components.

An indispensable device is the mouse. It provides quick interaction between the user and the running program. Often during prolonged use, dirt, dust and various foreign objects accumulate inside the case. In our article we will talk about proper care for this type of equipment and how to clean it.

Thanks to the advent of new developments, manufacturers are improving their products, creating a huge assortment. Therefore, various models and versions of devices appear. Depending on which option you are using, the set of tools required for a full cleaning will vary. In general, you can use the following materials.

  • Fleece or gauze swab.
  • Toothpicks or pointy matches.
  • Special cleaning products.
  • Napkins.
  • Toothbrush for heavy dirt.
  • Soap solution for washing individual parts.

All this can be easily found at home, the process does not take much time and money. If you have prepared everything, you can proceed to clean the mouse body.

IMPORTANT! If you want to perform deep cleaning, you should disassemble the case. You can do without disassembly, but in this case you will need very thin sticks to penetrate inside under the lid.

To begin with, you should read the instructions and assembly diagram of the device (if any), and also stock up with the necessary tool. To do this, we need a screwdriver and a small mat for laying parts. The action plan will look like this:

  1. Unplug the equipment. Pull out the cord or remove the batteries (in the case of a wireless system).
  2. Turn the mouse upside down.
  3. Unscrew all the screws in turn.
  4. After that, separate the structure by disconnecting the bottom.
  5. Inside, among the many elements, disconnect the wheel and microcircuits. Be careful not to damage them or break integrity.

IMPORTANT! Outside and inside the mouse, there are many small parts. Carefully lay them on the mat during disassembly. It is best to recount the number of constituent elements, as well as remember the assembly order.

Sometimes it happens that liquid gets into the case. This is dangerous because it can damage the electronics and circuit boards lying there. This will adversely affect the functioning and possibly lead to damage to the equipment. If you accidentally spill water on a mouse or drop it into a liquid, follow the instructions below:

  1. First, turn off the power to the equipment. Do not shake out the water, it will only make it worse.
  2. Disassemble the case as described above.
  3. Lay out all the elements on a stage.
  4. Remove moisture with dry cotton wool, a napkin, or a soft cloth.
  5. You can gently blow dry. It is important to completely remove any trapped water.
  6. Assemble the device and try connecting it. Everything should work.

TIP! If you feel a burning smell or an electric flash, the wires are likely to burn out. If the mouse is expensive, you can try to repair it with a specialist. In the case of the budget option, it will be more profitable to purchase a new model.

If you want to remove accumulated dust, you can use one of the possible methods. If cleaning was carried out recently, it will be enough just to go through the main connectors with a brush, without disassembling the design.

  1. Disconnect the mouse from the power source.
  2. Clean the body of the product with a brush and cotton wool with alcohol.
  3. Make a few toothpicks with cotton wool.
  4. Use them to clean all recesses and connectors.

If you need deep cleansing, you will need to look inside for a thorough diagnosis and cleaning. This is easy enough to do.

  1. Disassemble the design as described in the article.
  2. First collect coarse dust and dirt particles.
  3. Rinse parts with a cotton swab treated with alcohol.
  4. Use a brush and toothpicks to remove stubborn dirt.
  5. After that, dry all the elements and assemble the device.

IMPORTANT! It is much easier to carry out preventive treatment, not to start the equipment. However, you should periodically conduct a comprehensive cleaning.
