Most people have a microwave oven, and greatly simplifies the process of heating food. A pallet is a fragile device, due to which uniform heating is ensured - the food container rotates, warmed up by microwaves. A plate malfunction does not always attract attention, because the microwave oven continues to work. However, there are several causes of breakdowns and repair methods.
Why the dish does not spin in the microwave
The rotation of the pan is a modern improvement, allowing to heat food in one approach. Previously, people had to turn the dish on their own, including the oven several times. One cycle allows you to evenly warm the food by rotating the plate.
A malfunctioning pan is not the most difficult problem that occurs with a microwave. First of all, you need to find out the reason, this will determine the method of repair - do it yourself or give it to the after-sales service.
There are not so many reasons for a broken plate; most of them can be checked and fixed with your own hands.
Light bulb burned out
The lamp for lighting the inner chamber and the motor located in the pallet, on some models operate on a serial circuit. In other words, if the bulb breaks, the pallet stops working. However, the solution here is the simplest - just replace the lighting element.
Foreign body interferes
The motor is hidden under a special part - the coupler. It is plastic, performs the function of supporting the inner plate and protecting the engine. Traditionally, it has three branches on which the pallet is located. Sometimes a piece of food that has fallen out of a plate during a turn can get stuck and prevent the steamer from turning. It will be enough just to remove a foreign object.
Incorrect pallet installation
The pallet is not installed correctly, the wheels have shifted after regular cleaning or too much food. You need to fix the plate.
Gear gears broken
A common problem is when one of the mechanisms fails. A bent or broken gear often stops the plate, preventing it from turning.
Broken shaft
A very unpleasant factor when this part fails - the replacement will be costly, it is easier to purchase new equipment. It is the shaft that is responsible for the movement of the pallet. Often, a malfunction can be associated with wiring and cause damage to the gearbox. But most often, the shaft breaks due to the total weight put in the microwave oven of the dish.

Winding shorted
Closing the winding is unpleasant, but instantly recognizable:the smell of burnt varnish will appear in the inner chamber. A break following a short circuit will cause the motor to stop.

A fairly simple malfunction that can be solved with your own hands. The departed contacts are usually visible with the naked eye, only for this you will need to completely disassemble the furnace.
What to do if the microwave does not turn the pan
Most of the reasons can be corrected independently, especially if the repair does not require disassembling the entire microwave. The lack of plate rotation in a working microwave oven is a malfunction of the torque element.
In general, there are such problems:
- damage to the engine (rotation motor);
- gearbox malfunction;
- loose contacts and wires.
You can fix the last two problems with the proper skills, but if the problem is in the engine, then it is better to give the microwave to the service. Free diagnostics will allow you to at least establish the cause of the breakdown, and after that you can try to fix it yourself. But it is better to entrust the matter to specialists: if the breakdown is not serious, then the matter will not take much time.
The microwave is working but the dish is not spinning
The first thing you need to pay attention to obvious problems. Raise the pallet, determining the reliability of its fixation in place and the health of the coupler with wheels. If there are dried pieces of food or other foreign objects, then they must be removed. And also you need to clean and wash the place under and around the pallet - it is quite possible that grease and dirt have accumulated on the element and do not allow the plate to rotate.
The problem will be too large a dish or exhibiting food that touches the walls of the inner chamber. You need to try to replace the tank or split the food. Otherwise, not only the pallet will fail, but the reflective enamel of the inner chamber may also break off.
The microwave heats up but the pan does not spin
The above problems are resolved, the pallet is installed properly and the surface is clean, then the malfunction is clearly technical. Damage can be as follows:
- the gears of the gearbox are bent;
- the rotary shaft is out of order;
- shorted or cut off the motor winding;
- the contacts are gone;
- microcircuit burned out.
All malfunctions as a result are reduced to a broken engine. The part is quite expensive since a complete replacement is required. It makes sense to take the microwave to the technical center. The master in microwave ovens may well replace the engine with a used one or subordinate a motor.
Important! Repairing a broken engine by yourself is not recommended. The malfunction can be repaired, but such a repair will entail more serious problems and, most likely, the need for a complete replacement of equipment.
What can be done at home if the microwave tray does not spin
Serious problems are best left to the discretion of the craftsmen in the service center. But three problems can definitely be solved at home without calling a repairman. All of them consist in simple manipulations:
- Light bulb burned out. As already described, in some models the motor and the bulb operate on the same line, and failure of the lighting device entails an inoperative pallet. It is enough to buy and replace a light bulb.
- Foreign body interferes - Often these are dried pieces of food, dried fat and dirt, or another element that accidentally gets inside the microwave. For example, something could catch on the bottom of the dish, and upon rotation it would fall off and roll under the pallet. It is necessary to clean the inner chamber, paying attention to the underside and wash off grease.
- Incorrect pallet installation - everything is very simple here. It is necessary to fix the plate in the correct position, and check the operation of the oven again.
Important! Before any events, it is necessary to disconnect the equipment - disconnect from the network.
For any breakdowns, be sure to contact the service center
If the microwave oven stops working, including the rotation of the pan, there is no need to panic. You should try to fix possible problems, and also check the warranty period - it may well be possible to subordinate under the guarantee. If the breakdown is caused by a faulty motor, a torn winding or loose contacts, contacting the service is required.
Self-repair attempts can exacerbate the problem, or only temporarily fix it. It is best to take the microwave oven to the service. The repair price rarely exceeds the cost of a microwave oven, only if the main unit is out of order.
