The loudest speaker

Speakers are a unique device capable of amplifying the sound of your favorite music, spreading it to tens, and sometimes hundreds of meters and even kilometers. Conventional home speakers can deliver up to 90 dB of sound. But this is far from the limit. The world's loudest speaker has a maximum volume of 145 dB!

REFERENCE:Loud conversation is 60 dB, the aircraft engine operates at a volume of 130 dB, and 140 dB is already a painful, dangerous threshold for a person to sound.

The most powerful acoustics in the world - commissioned by Paul McCartney

The most powerful speakers have been designed to play music. They were created by Bose. The main purpose of this device was to sound concerts with a large audience in the open. The speaker has a capacity of 4900 watts. Manufacturers claimed that this was not the limit, it was possible to create a device with a capacity of 11 thousand watts, but it was impractical and unsafe. And ordered such a "miracle device," Sir Paul McCartney himself. For the audience, such an invention was overly powerful. Especially unlucky standing near the sound source, within a radius of 100 m from the scene.

History, why he ordered it

Paul McCartney planned to organize one of the most popular festivals in memory of the legendary Beatles band. The event promised to be large-scale, so the musician thought about acoustics in advance. So that everyone present could enjoy the music in full, regardless of the distance from the scene. Turning to the then still little-known Boss company, he ordered the development of a mega-loud device. The Beatles had previously dreamed that only 40 years after completion of their career, acoustics with such capabilities would be developed. She would be very useful at their thousands of concerts in stadiums.

After the festival, the media trumpeted with might and main that more than 50 people were injured due to powerful sound waves. All of them were right next to the stage. A few days after the festival, the victims suffered a headache, there was a general malaise, and tinnitus. Doctors explained that these symptoms were caused by excessive exposure to sound waves.

REFERENCE: An interesting fact is that all the victims after a few weeks again attended the next event, created using the same Ultra-Slim ARRAY speakers.

At the festival, in which Sir Paul McCartney took part, a huge stage was set on which the audio system was placed. The sound spread in a radius of more than 5 km. The system included three long speakers, several bundles of small speakers around the perimeter of the podium, and two amplifiers under the stage. After the event, Bose gained unprecedented popularity and began to work on a new version of the speaker system. The next modernized acoustics developed by this company had the same power indicators. The differences from its predecessor are the expanded frequency range and the harmonic distortion coefficient is reduced.

Description, cost of acoustics

The speaker system consists of a set of devices that provide audio playback. The kit includes audio signal power amplifiers, a frequency filter (crossover) and three speakers with dynamic heads.

The speaker power is 4900 W, the maximum playback volume is from 139 to 145 dB. The cost of this device corresponds to its capabilities and amounts to tens of thousands of dollars.
